His expertise in safety spans across operations, engineering, projects and maintenance activities.

James Colucci has over 40 years of experience working in the nuclear industry as a highly skilled control room operator, adult trainer, contractor manager, and technical document writer. His track record of translating complex information into clear, succinct materials ensures understanding, increases effectiveness and enhances learning in applications across Canada. James has extensive experience dealing with regulatory interfaces and knows how to comply with the strictest and most complex stipulations. He is the President and founder of CSSP Inc.

Dr. Carl Marx

Expertise: Risk Management and Mining Safety.

Dr Carl Marx is a risk and management professional with +43 years of experience at all levels of the organization, in operations as well as executive, consulting and support roles. He has in-depth knowledge of the mining and construction risk management processes, including design and implementation of operational and risk management programs.

His experience was gained across the globe in providing risk assessment services to multi-cultural companies by ensuring that systems are aligned with corporate governance requirements, employees are suitably trained, and that management is fully on board to implement the risk management programs. While working as a deputy Director for the Department of Minerals and Energy, he Co-authored the South African Government-issued “Practical guide to Risk assessment in Mining” that formed the basis for the successful introduction of risk assessment in the South African mining industry.

He has a Doctorate in Risk Management and used that knowledge to develop numerous innovative, yet practical, risk management programs and risk prevention training courses, including packages for the University of Queensland (JKTech) and global mining companies.

Some of his notable publications include a risk management chapter in a current student prescribed textbook (Management for Engineers, Technologists and Scientists) as well as two online coursed with Edumine.

He has an advanced knowledge of computer programs and was the technical advisor for the development of several risk applications. He has successfully developed, tested, and implemented HSE risk management solutions for several international companies.

Jason Colucci

Expertise: COR & OSHAS Auditor and Enviornmenal program.

Over the last two years he has analyzed hundreds of investigation packages and companies’ corrective and preventative actions in response to those incidents. Across over fifty companies, he has conducted interviews of key personnel and decisions makers to determine implementation of both culture and program. Jason has more than a decade of experience evaluating, creating, and auditing health and safety management systems specializing in construction, environmental, and engineering oversight companies. He is currently working as an associate auditor for the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association COR program and privately as a management and quality systems consultant.

Education and Skills
Jason has lead auditor certificates in ISO standards for both Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and Quality Management Systems. He has an honours bachelors degree in Environmental Studies and worked in conservation and environmental rehabilitation projects internationally before specializing in safety. His areas of expertise include strategic implementation of technology into businesses, creation of management systems from conception to implementation, auditing and evaluating the effectiveness of documented procedures, decision modelling, and training.

Gary held executive positions at major EPC companies engaged in the industrial, power generation, operations, service, and maintenance sectors. He is recognized as a leader in the areas of Human Resources and Occupational Health & Safety Management and has served in an expert advisory role to governments and industry.


Nick Love

Training and Operations Manager
Expertise: Health & Safety Training and Administrative Service.

Nick Love is a new member to our team and will be responsible for assisting clients with training needs and support on closing any documentation gaps. Nick is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with one objective to provide support, training, and facilitation to client employees with the goal to minimize health and safety hazards. Nick’s approach to safety is proactive with keeping the client advised of risks before they could result in accidents. Nick is currently working on his NCSO (national construction safety officer) designation.
